現今祖父母在家庭中扮演的角色日益重要，許多祖父母不僅要負責日常照顧孫子女，還需要承擔教養和課業輔導的責任。為提高家庭和社會對祖父母所作貢獻的重視，李錦記家族基金銳意推動每年十月第二個星期日為香港的「祖父母感謝節」，並透過舉行一系列不同活動，鼓勵祖孫及家庭成員之間以五種愛的語言加強溝通，認同和讚賞祖父母的付出，推動「讚美由家做起」的敬老文化，使家庭更和諧幸福。
 
我們期望這個計劃的理念能由家庭起步，逐步擴展至社區，讓「祖父母感謝節」成為社會的年度重要活動之一，令長者的付出能得到家庭及社會的認同和讚賞。

The role of grandparents in families is increasingly vital today. Many grandparents not only take care of their grandchildren daily but also bear the responsibility of upbringing and academic guidance. To raise awareness of the contributions made by grandparents to families and society, Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation advocates for the second Sunday of October to be celebrated as "Grandparents' Day" in Hong Kong. Through a series of activities, we encourage stronger communication among grandparents, grandchildren, and family members using the five love languages, recognizing and appreciating grandparents' efforts. This initiative aims to promote a culture of respect for the elderly starting from within families, fostering harmony and happiness.
 
We hope that the concept of this program can start at the family level and gradually expand to the community, making "Grandparents' Day" one of the significant annual events in society, allowing contributions of seniors to be acknowledged and appreciated from both families and society.
